(2008-12-03) Bender Netbook Summit

Walter Bender describes the discussions at the NetBook Summit. In my talk, I suggested that the netbook was at the forefront of the emerging cultural and technological battle between telephony and computing - i.e., the culture of service (Consumer) and the culture of creation (Creativity). Inviting children into the community of learners and problem-solvers is the opportunity afforded by giving them access to computation and "learning as a verb".
