(2008-12-29) Friedman Gas Tax
Thomas Friedman says we need a Gas Tax. Without a higher Gas Tax or Carbon Tax, Barack Obama will lack the leverage to drive critical pieces of his foreign and domestic agendas. How so? According to AAA, U.S. gasoline prices now average about $1.67 a gallon. Funny, that's almost exactly what gas cost on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.
Tom Evslin agrees but thinks it should be passed/announced now but for implementation in 18 months so that people/companies have some time to prepare. I Commented that I think rules like that don't get believed.
