(2009-03-09) Fast N Bulbous Live

Saw Fast N Bulbous tonight at Poisson Rouge (Live Event). Awesome. New album out (bought it afterwards), they're heading off to Europe on Friday. A bit more improv live than on album, but very tight.

• I caught only the last piece from the opening duo of Sxip Shirey (composes music for pyro-technic clowns, circus artists, good theater, contortionists, a choir, and his five-piece gypsy-klezmer-tango-punk ensemble) with Adam Matta (Beat Box). Pretty cool.

Microscopic Septet will be at the same location in 2 nights. Highly recommended.
