Pre-PreSchool, how entertain a tyke near Barrington Il?

the Deer Park Barnes And Noble has readings on Mondays and Thursdays.
the Crystal Lake Barnes And Noble has readings on most Wednesdays and Saturdays.
I've heard the Public Library has regular events, but I can't find much on the calendar. Maybe on hold until after xmas?
