(2010-03-17) Obama Threatens Veto On Intel Oversight

There hasn't been an actual Intelligence Authorization Act passed in five years.

Some Democrats have been trying to include measures in the 2010 bill that would increase Congressional oversight beyond the "GangOfEight".

Barack Obama has been threatening to veto any bill that includes such oversight.

A diluted bill was passed Mar02 by the House. The White House threatens to veto even that.

Jul20 update: GAO oversight was removed from the Senate version of the bill. The House version (HR2701) still includes it.

Dianne Feinstein has supported the Barack Obama position, while Nancy Pelosi has been the main champion of oversight.
