(2010-10-06) Tmobile Android Wifi Calling

T-Mobile has announced that it will be extending its WiFi Calling service (UMA) to Android. The service has long been available on other T-Mobile devices. It allows callers to avoid minute usage while circumventing poor indoor cellular signals by placing calls on dedicated Wi-Fi networks... T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling relies solely on Kineto Smart Wi Fi. This allows the service to travel with the device and work on any Wi-Fi network — not just at your home.

Albert Wenger notes that this can be a great value when doing International Roaming. I Commented to ask if he's ever done VoIP Over [[WiFi]] in those situations. He responded that it isn't necessary with UMA.

May'2011 update: the Nexus One can use this only if hacked.
