(2011-03-01) Html Hacking Tools

The Mozilla Drumbeat Hackasaurus group is working on getting kids hacking on HTML, inspired by some nice tools

  • XRayVisionGoggles to expose the HTML containers around visible parts of a page - much friendlier but shallower than FireBug.
  • Html Pad, giving you a PasteBin for copies of other sites' HTML to play with yourself
  • Popcorn and Butter for Video elements

Apr'2012 update: Majd Taby explores the process of using the Web Kit Inspector. The blog post is the first in a series of posts that attempts to outline what a modern web development toolchain looks like and how to use the best-of-breed tools for efficient, effective development. Part two will outline how to use to set up your Terminal, zsh, and vim.
