(2011-03-12) Large Tiddly Spaces

Jon complains about the performance of loading (viewing-1st-page) his Tiddly Space space which has 963 tiddlers adding up to 10MB.

When I converted my old Zwiki content to MoinMoin, I had 13k nodes making 9MB (actually 54MB in total filespace because of block-size effect). I expect to be adding to this for a long time. And I'd be happy if it got broader by supporting other data streams (e.g. Microblogging, anti-SocialBookmarking, etc.). Concern over this was one reason I never adopted Tiddly Wiki heavily. The idea that the same single-big-bag model is being used in Tiddly Web and Tiddly Space, for sake of compatibility with Tiddly Wiki, just seems, uh, silly to me. I'm sure there are some people who need a local/offline Wiki which they can synch with an online version, but it seems like a relatively rare requirement to me.

Chris Dent suggests something more accepting of compatibility.
