(2011-07-11) Wikiweb Wagn Vs Tiddly Vs Other
If I want to move Student Wiki Web forward, what do I build it on? WagN and Tiddly Space both seem promising, the way they both build Structured Wiki and Transclusion support up from atomic MicroContent (Node Web).
But...
- WagN is built on Ruby On Rails, which I don't really feel like learning. Tiddly Space is built on Python.
- Tiddly Space has a pretty big stack to install/maintain, wonder whether it's manageable on Cheap Hosting.
- WagN is Open Source to install yourself, but to have them host costs $20/mo which means they'll never have a Critical Mass.
- hmm, does the Open Source code even support multiple spaces on a single server?
- Tiddly Space depends on Patronage of OsmoSoft/BT, which means power is concentrated on those folks (e.g. Tiddly Wiki legacy isn't going away).
- (obviously you could fork either project, but that would be ugly)
Other possibilities
