(2013-05-20) Numenta Renamed Grok

Jeff Hawkins' Nu Menta group has been renamed Grok to emphasize the transition from a research venture to a commercial product company. The company has begun deployment of Grok, its patented machine intelligence product which ingests data streams and creates actionable predictions in real-time.

Jul'2013 update: they are Open Source-ing Nu P I C, a set of Machine Learning algorithms called the Cortical Learning Algorithm (CLA) first described in a whitepaper published by Numenta in 2009. OsCon had a session to set up some live streaming data to pass into the client and watch as Nu P I C makes online inferences, learning the changing patterns in the streaming data set.
