Nick Morrison: This Is What A University Of The Future Looks Like

FutureLearn, a social learning platform founded by the U.K.’s Open University and with more than six millions students from 200-plus countries, has been at the forefront of moves to expand the online higher education market.

While FutureLearn has teamed up with universities to offer courses carrying online credits, this is the first time a U.K. university has run full degrees over its platform.

Coventry University is to offer 50 wholly online degrees over the next five years.

Postgraduate programs in business and law, health and life sciences, and engineering will be among the first degrees on offer, available from early 2018.

But if they prove successful then demand for Undergraduate options is likely to follow.
