(2021-03-02) Double MoonReader folders in GoogleDrive

I use GoogleDrive to sync my MoonReader highlights/etc across my phone and tablet. It hasn't been working lately.

I just figured out why! I have 2 GoogleDrive folders created by MoonReader.

And it's not like it just switched from 1 to the other. There are books on varying recent days in each folder. (One folder only goes back to Dec26, the other much further back. But both come up to the last couple weeks.)

For the most part a book's files are only in 1 folder or the other, though there are a couple exceptions.

If I just merge those folders, and then delete one, will things take care of themselves?

Or is there anything trickier I need to do, like dis-connect GoogleDrive from both of them, then clean GD, then re-attach? Or is dis-connecting actually a bad idea?

Mar03 - have seen no response, so trying myself

  • go into both devices, turn off GoogleDrive sync
  • swipe-up app on each device
  • move all the files from one folder over to the other
  • delete the now-empty hierarchy
  • launch app on GalaxyTab, reconnect to GoogleDrive - it creates a new folder!!!!

Emailed-dev, going near-immediate answer. Delete all the gdrive folders.

Note the folder only gets populated by a book by going into that book (and moving around?) So you can't add a book to a 2nd device that you stopped reading ages ago on the 1st device, and have the 2nd device just pick up the highlights/etc - you need to go into the first device first to push the sync up to gdrive. (Obviously)
