(2026-09-25) Chromebook not playing video after update

I let my Chromebook update, and now none of the apps show video (even as you hear the audio track). Chrome itself displays it fine. YouTube is just a webview by default.

Every app I tried failed: Netflix, HBO, Paramount, Peacock, Disney, AmazonPrime.

Nice testing job, dudes.

Based on a post I used Chrome's flags setting to turn off hardware acceleration. This resulted in all the apps giving an error message when they tried to play video.

Now I've tried a hard reset. Had to re-set flags.

That did it.
