Amazon Dev Pay makes it easier for an ISV to charge for a WebApp built on Amazon Web Services.

Phil Wainewright thinks this is huge.

• It's certainly huge that you can add a variable cost component to cover varying use of the underlying Amazon Web Services infrastructure, if that's significant.

• And it certainly lets you defer building that payment management stuff yourself, at least until you see some actual demand. At that point you'll probably want to build more yourself to customize to the process you want. (Or not.)
