DHTML

Dynamic HTML.

For Rich Client development.

Used to be unstandardized, but now that seems to have changed. The W3C DOM is largely supported in both IE and Mozilla and to a lesser degree in Konq and Opera.

http://www.zvon.org is a great resource in this space. http://www.dithered.com/javascript/dom2_events/index.html bridges the IE event model to DOM standard compliance http://www.xs4all.nl/%7Eppk/js/index.html?importxml.html bridges differences in browser xml loading.
