opt-out system to avoid getting calls at home from telemarketers

hey, maybe I can stop paying for an unlisted number...

exemptions (which I don't necessarily agree with): non-profits, religions, political parties

This process was challenged in the courts by the [Direct Marketing Association] and the [American Teleservices Association]. Shame on you! I can't believe the Colorado treated this as a right for companies. The government wasn't saying they couldn't call anybody, it was letting people say they didn't want to receive the calls.

Why not a registry to end the ?
