DoNotDisturb

Mobile phone mode for being able to not be bothered by certain types of notifications/alerts/noises.

The tricky part is

• defining what you do want to hear
• having easy process to toggle this setting

iOS (for my family) - hear phone ring, but nothing else (their text messaging includes lots of group-chats - there's probably some fine-grained support of letting you get alerts from some people, but I'm keeping it simple for them)

• to toggle: "just pull down the menu with airplane mode and stuff and tap the moon, that turns on DND"
• you can schedule dates/times to have it turn on/off automatically
• Settings -> Do not disturb -> allow calls from -> everyone

Android (for me) - hear phone and text messaging (SMS, Kakao; but not Slack, Discord...)

• toggle with the little - inside circle icon in top pulldown (between flashlight and hotspot)
• also have 2 schedules to auto on/off - weeknights and weekends
• settings -> Sound -> Do Not Disturb
  • Calls - allow from anyone
  • SMS, MMS, and messaging apps: from contacts only
