- reduces boredom/abandonment of individual email
- can have call-to-action in each

Sometimes you just have a single static series, and each user gets every single one (aside from doing Unsubscribe).
Other times you get fancy with logic
- different varieties of drip for different user segments
- branching segments, if you collect some form of feedback during early "editions"
- cancel remaining editions once user complete key call-to-action
