Get Satisfaction

Get Satisfaction is a customer community software platform for Technical Support (User Support) based in San Francisco, California, United States.[3] It was founded on January 31, 2007, by several people, including Lane Becker,[4] Amy Muller, Thor Muller,[3] and Jonathan Grubb. It publicly launched in September 2007.[5] In April 2015, Get Satisfaction was acquired by Sprinkl R, a Social Media management company. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Get_Satisfaction

Jason Fried complained about their marketing in 2009. If you fail to subscribe to Get Satisfaction’s way of doing things, Get Satisfaction suggests to your customers that you’re “not yet committed to an open conversation.” That’s unfair and unreasonable. Just because we don’t team up with Get Satisfaction it doesn’t mean we’re not committed to an open conversation.

Thor Muller on acquisition by Sprinkl R. As a founder and a parent, I can say startups are really nothing like children. This is obvious, of course, but you often hear founders use these kinds of overblown analogies. It’s more apt to compare them to a treehouse patched together with dodgy old planks and rusty nails where the kids play, unwatched. At their best, startups bring a few like-minded crazies together around ideas that matter, and make some magic.
