book/movie re

He really irritates me - scenes like him looking off in the distance in the tobacco-drying area, thinking about his sister who died from lung cancer, and the fact that his family only stopped growing tobacco after her death, like they didn't believe that myth about smoking and lung cancer until then, just makes me nuts. Anyhow...

Someone raised the issue in a phone call today about the accuracy of his most impressive graph, where he goes up in the little elevator to show the recent trend. They said there was no scale. This is the "[Hockey Stick]" graph.

On that same phone call, someone said that they thought the most convincing bits were the then/now pictures of various places that used to have ice.
