Interwoven is a line of content management systems and related products. Previously a stand-alone company headquartered in San Jose, California, USA and founded in 1995, it was acquired on March 17, 2009 by Autonomy, which in turn was acquired by Hewlett-Packard in 2011. The Interwoven and Autonomy product lines became known as HP Autonomy. HP has since aligned the former Interwoven product lines to the HP Marketing Optimization business group... The company produces a content management system called TeamSite, which is designed for creating complex intranet and Internet web applications. Their document management system, WorkSite, stores, indexes, organizes, and searches documents including email messages. Other products include OpenDeploy and LiveSite. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interwoven
Apr'2016: The package of products sold to OpenText today come from the HP Engage line and includes HP TeamSite, a web content management tool left over from the purchase of InterWoven (which was actually bought by Autonomy before Autonomy was sold to HP), HP MediaBin, a digital asset management solution, HP Qfiniti, a workforce optimization solution for enterprise contact center management, as well as HP Explore, HP Aurasma, and HP Optimost.
- As a vendor OpenText is a financial construct in search of a technology rationale. The company follows a "RollUp" strategy: purchasing older tools for their maintenance revenue streams, streams which — while not always large — are almost always very profitable.
