How to Manage Your Life By Joe Karbo

really think the most difficult thing in undertaking the program is the facing of yourself and saying, "I am the cause of all my effects." This particular approach is called HOW TO MANAGE YOUR LIFE.

Ask yourself whether, sitting in a Rolls Royce, you would feel that you deserved it, you had it coming, and you earned it. If the answer is “No,” then I suggest to you that there is something to work on in your self- image

You can have everything in the world you really want. But you can't set goals for other people, and you can't let other people set goals for you

there are three Eves in the story of creation:

  • CONCEIVE - First we have to get a concept of what we really want.
  • BELIEVE - The second Eve is believe, because you have to believe the concept. You have to put it into the present tense because the subconscious mind is an idiot mind
  • ACHIEVE - The final Eve is achieve. You have to act as though the concept were true

To summarize How to Manage Your Life, you can have everything in the world you want if you're willing to pay the price

Only you can decide whether the price is worth it, or you can “cop out” - find excuses, and continue being a victim: “I can be rich, too, if I want to be a crook like him.” You cannot have a goal in conflict with other goals; but if it's anything other than that, I think it's a cop-out. Look at it carefully. It has to be your goal.

Keep doing what you are doing and you will just keep getting what you are getting

BOOK ONE

CHAPTER ONE: YOU'RE NOW ON YOUR WAY!

You are now on your way to having everything in the world you really want! Notice I say “everything” not “anything

An important part of Dyna/Psyc practice is the need to detect and be free of any limitation

What is Dyna/Psyc? It is the “code word” I have found most fitting to use when referring to that collection of natural laws or truths which make up this fantastic success formula.

Dyna ... because it is indeed a dynamic concept, one which moves you forward with great energy to the achievement of any goal. It is a source of great power, like some giant dynamo creating endless energy.

And Psyc ... because of two sciences fundamental to the method. Psychology, about which we have learned so much in the last seventy-five years, and those far less understood natural laws we are barely beginning to understand through Psychic Research.*

Dyna/Psyc: the programmed study and practice of achieving success by the planned application of important but little understood natural laws.

it is important for you to know what you really want out of life.

Why do you have to have a specific inventory of what you want?

people who do have such plans are able to make life pay off on their own terms

But a specific plan is only one of the factors in the success of truly successful people

What is that second quality common to all really successful people?

The ability to use effectively whatever asset you have!

R.S.V.P.: Read ... Study ... Visualize ... Perform

READ

I must read in order to learn the secrets that will make my life easier

STUDY I must study these things I read. I must do more than merely apply my to the printed page. I must apply myself, mind, ideas, thoughts to the substance of the words I read

VISUALIZE I must cultivate the capacity to visualize, in concrete form, everything I read and study. I must learn to take a mental or written suggestion and be able to project it like a motion picture on the hidden screen of my mind's eye.

PERFORM The manner in which I perform is all outlined in great detail in the chapters which lie ahead.

CHAPTER TWO: TODAY'S INADEQUATE YOU

Inadequate Self-image = ISI

This ISI is one of the first things formed in your life. It has a more lasting effect on your failure or success. It plays a more prominent role than any other single factor

many pressures that were applied to us in those first few years. These pressures were the “do's and don'ts” of our early years as expressed in the habits we established. Scientifically these things are referred to as “conditioning.”

can be divided into two categories: Those which help us in later years and those which hinder our progress

Let's try to evaluate your self-image

  • Zone I: The Ability to Make Money
  • Zone 2: Getting Along with Others (not family
  • Zone 3: Leadership
  • Zone 4: Sport or Leisure Skills
  • Zone 5: Family Relationships
  • Zone 6: Your Work Skills*
  • Zone 7: Your Powers of Persuasion
  • Zone 8: How Lucky are You?
  • Zone 9: How “Smart” are You?
  • Zone 10: How Do Others See You?

This is your composite Self- Image Rating

The significance of this rating is even greater if you will now take the scores from just three zones of the text; Zones 1, 2, and 8.
The 1-2-8 scores, which we have averaged on the left above, are what we might call How Things Are scores. They relate to what is and is not happening for you. They are an evaluation of current success.

CHAPTER THREE: FEAR AS A FACTOR

two unique qualities of fear as a conditioning factor.

  • 1. Fear is always a “hindering” force.
  • 2. Fear is generally a “buried” force

CHAPTER FOUR: WE BEGIN

Your first positive action is to answer this short question:
“What do you want?”

Right now you must begin a complete list of what you want. Why such a detailed list? Because that is the first step to getting them! This list becomes a list of your goals, your destinations!

Things I Need RIGHT NOW!

the sky's the limit. Everything you want, now or sometime in the future.

Things I WANT!

Besides possessing things, we need certain qualities or attributes of personality and character

Personal Qualities I Need and Want:

CHAPTER FIVE: TURNING “LISTS” INTO GOALS

The next step is laying out those listed items in a manner that lends itself to the constant “use” which your success will require. In short, we must turn loose “lists” into concrete goals.

Below is a checklist for goal development:
