My Android Notifications Setup

Aug'2017: I recently refined my Android Notification setup, and I'm pretty happy with it.

I let apps send visual notifications, but set most to "Silenced", except for

• Phone
• Instant Messaging variants
• Calendar

(I don't show email notifications anywhere, because there are too many emails.)

Then I go to Settings/DoNotDisturb and

• set Automatic Rules for Nights to be "Priority-only" (different time window for weekdays vs weekends)
• allow alarms, messages from anyone, and calls from anyone to Override "Priority-only"

(As a parent, I never know who could be calling, so I can't limit who can make my phone ring.)

In retrospect, this simplicity only works because I don't have any apps that get used for both high-importance and low-importance messages.

Which makes this page maybe useless for most people. But I'm leaving it here anyway, to help me if I need to refine things later...
