PixelWatch
Google smart-watch for Android https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_Watch
- integrates with FitBit (since Google owns them now)
- does sleep tracking, including SpO2
- ah, look under "Health Metrics" - it gives daily averages (mine run 94-96%, ugh normal is 97-100%))
- does this drive the "estimated oxygen variation" under "Restoration" phase?
But
- when do you recharge it, if you're going to wear it for sleeping?
- ugh I still hate wearing a watch, haven't done it for years until now.... maybe I should have stuck with the Oura Ring
- maybe I'll try a stretchy band (for less than the $60 Google charges!)
- Aug17 update: I bought that and put it on yesterday, makes it so much better
Aug14'2023: I had let the battery run out while I was traveling. When I re-charged it, the date/time were wrong. And it kept connecting to the "wrong" Wifi network in our house, which might be why my Pixel6 wasn't connecting to it right. Restarting the phone solved the problem.
Oct06: having connect-to-phone issues - some data syncs, others don't (e.g. AmazonMusic/Media controls). Restarting the phone made it worse I think, and I found I was back on the wrong Wifi. Restarting.
- resorted to entering wifi password on watch, ugh
- had told phone to forget watch in bluetooth, can't seem to re-pair. Watch still has setting for phone but shows it Disconnected. But FitBit did seem to synch just now. Grr inconsistent tech. Restarting watch again.
- now see GooglePlay notification on watch to "disconnect & reset" which seems like it will do a hard-reset on the phone (wipe data). Ok..... (sigh)
- yes after all that it's working...
- Oct11: see that I don't have FitBit heartbeat data since Oct06, but I do have sleep data up until a couple days ago..... (AmazonMusic has been working fine.)
- Oct12 everything seems resolved, all varieties of FitBit data caught up with no gaps.
May26'2024 - hadn't worn it for months, decide to try it out again, to get fresh sleep data and see how gardening affects heart rate
- have to recharge, then install multiple watch updates
- FitBit won't synch.
- Restarting phone gets watch to say it's connected to phone, but still won't synch fitbit
- restart watch -> no improvement
- disconnect/reconnect from watch -> no good
- disconnect/reconnect from phone -> worked
- next day: not connecting again, disconnect/reconnect from phone -> worked
- ah, when I went to different PlayStore sub-screen on watch, looks like FitBit app needs Update, doing Update-all.
