social democrats aim to reform Capitalism democratically through state regulation and the creation of programs and organizations which work to ameliorate or remove injustices they see in the capitalist market system.

while social democrats share many views with the democratic Socialist-s, they often differ on specific policy issues. The two movements sometimes share political parties, such as the British (UK) Labour Party in the 1980s, and the Brazil-ian Workers' Party today.
