UseMod:SubPage gives a decent explanation

really brief framing at MeatBall:LongName - mostly intended to be used like sub-sections of a larger page, they are not intended to be linked to directly from other pages. Subpages were intended to be used when a single page gets too big (to edit or comfortably read), but one doesn't want to split the idea into totally separate pages.
- note that Meat Ball doesn't use MeatBall:SubPage feature
