I’m revisiting Lim’s (LiminalWarmth) question again: “If you wanted to 100x your ability to find truly talented people with world changing (Change the World) potential, how would you deploy resources to do it most effectively?”

You need to have some kind of attractor that they’re drawn to, or ideally a whole consortium of attractors. Good content can be an attractor. Good social groups can be an attractor. Events can be an attractor. Locations can be an attractor. And, well, Individuals can be attractors .

• (As I write this out I find myself thinking “sounds like you’re reinventing Disney”, and in a sense, yes I think it’s worth considering Disney’s trajectory when thinking about this*

There are also prolific individuals who function as social switchboards even if it’s not IRL meetups. Mersenne is the first that comes to mind, he was called “The Postbox of Europe” (Republic of Letters), He was mutuals with Descartes, Pascal, Hobbes, Galileo, Huygenes. If you wanted to get something to someone, you sent it to him, and he'd reroute it. So another way of answering the question is, “look for switchboard operators , and encourage them”.
