But some of the blogs, notably industry blogs, could be a lucrative enough opportunity for trade/industry/specialized websites trying to get an audience online and in turn, revenues, either directly from these audiences or by convincing advertisers. And let me explain the term "bought" here: this may not necessarily mean exchange of money, but could be a package where the blogger gets a salaried position, or a certain cut out of the ad/subscription revenues and other such combinations.
And John Scalzi's had a book he serialized on his WebLog picked up by Tor Books for "real" publication. Yet it still won't be out until "late 2003".
