(2004-12-17) Walker Cms Reality
David Walker/Shore Walker on the reality of CMS. Web content management's dirtiest secret is that most organisations not only don't need most CMS bells and whistles, but should actively avoid them. With lots of supporting quotes from Tony Byrne, Matthew Berk, and Joel Spolsky, plus my favorite, Jeffrey Veen paraphrasing what he hears too often: "Turns out, after all the budget and time we spent, we really didn't need a Content Management System at all. We just needed some editors."
