Jesse James Garrett on what Adaptive Path is calling AJAX, which is basically a Rich Client model based on JavaScript and XML (XmlHttpRequest, DOM, etc.).

While the main PC browsers are capable of this stuff, I can't help but wonder whether we're raising the bar too high for resource-constrained situations: Cell Phone/PDA, embedded systems, etc.
