(2005-08-30) Blog Vs Forum For Marketing Conversation
I'm asking Hugh MacLeod whether Markets Are Conversations is better implemented in a Discussion Forum setting than in the BlogWeb.
He replies: Forums (Fora?) tend to be asshole and troll magnets. Not worth the trouble. Hmm, don't Blog Comment-s have the same issue? Perhaps not with as much volume, but maybe that's just because there's less underlying conversation going on there...
Hmm, perhaps Marketing Blog for pre-customers, and closed Discussion Forum for post-sale "members"?

Maybe this wouldn't make sense for wine, but would for a Complex Sale?

Is Amy Jo Kim working in this area? What does Kathy Sierra think?

Thirty7 Signals uses PunBB for BackPack and BaseCamp, but nothing for TadaList.
