(2006-11-21) Calcanis Advertising Macro Force

Jason Calcanis says the main force behind the New Economy is migration of Advertising (following Attention) from the MSM to New Media/WebAds. On Valley Wag he comments * I'm not saying this money is going to the Web 2.0 companies out there.... $0.95 of every $1 spent in advertising in our industry will be sold via the top five companies (yahoo, google, aol, fox, and MSN).*

One possible counter-argument: by going online, Advertising will become measurable. So people will do lots less of it (esp in its current form).
