Jason Fried thinks RSS is still unusable by normal people, vs EMail. (Adoption Life Cycle) I think RSS will become part of every EMail Fat Client and WebApp, and every Portal. The trick will be getting the "new" feed into the user's subscription list, equivalent to getting them to add you to their EMail White List.
