(2007-12-11) Amazon Discounts Reduced

Is Amazon reducing its discounts on mainstream paperbacks to compensate for Kindle EBook pricing? (I checked a couple of the posted examples against Barnes And Noble: the Amazon price now matches the B&N non-member price.)
