(2009-06-02) Google Sell Current Ebooks Directly

Google is preparing to work with publishers to sell current EBook-s directly online, instead of just via links to Amazon and Barnes And Noble. In early discussions, Google has said it would allow publishers to set a suggested retail price, but that it would set the ultimate consumer price. What the heck does that mean? Are they going to take a loss like Amazon does?

Mr. Turvey said Google's program would allow consumers to read books on any device with Internet access, including Mobile phones, rather than being limited to dedicated reading devices like the Amazon Kindle.
