(2009-06-13) Facebook User Urls

FaceBook has started letting users claim a short-URI based on their name. Of course, that requires uniqueness which means most people won't be able to use their real name. It's DNS all over again.

Anil Dash does a great parody thing.

Dave Winer notes some Game Playing with the allocation rules. According to Tech Crunch they're favoring journalists they "work with." Oy. Should we read that as "Journalists who write stories we like?" As if Journalist-s need another reason for readers not to trust them.
