(2009-10-01) Adt Vs Uverse

Going to re-activate the ADT Security system in the house next week.

Hmm, will it work with our UVerse setup? ADT says they're compatible with UVerse, but I'm not sure how that will really work out. I'm pretty sure they make a modem call to send alert messages to their monitoring center. And we only have 1 phone jack working, depending on a Cordless Phone to "share" it through the house...

Oct06 update:

• he came, and yes he had no Dial Tone to work with when he arrived. But since the ADT box is near the UVerse splicing, he just did what he needed to to get it working. Then spent hours getting various sensors around the house working.

• he had to change a bunch of batteries. Some a 2nd time, because he kept getting Low Battery warnings. Then, shortly after he left, I saw another Low Battery warning for 1 sensor. So I did a Bypass on that one. I'll call them in a couple days to make them come back and deal with it.

• shortly after the tech left, all my UVerse went out. Rebooting the UVerse hub didn't seem to work, but the service came on ~15min later, while I was on the call with their tech, so who knows?
