(2010-07-22) Flipboard

FlipBoard is the hot buzz-topic du-jour. It's "your personalized, social Magazine" reader for the IPad. A pretty Universal Inbox with a Social Network Context: actually it's not even an RssAggregator, but rather focuses on scraping links from Twitter and FaceBook. I’m sure lots of publishers won’t like what they see inside Flipboard. Hrm that sounds like a problem, esp if they hide publishers' ads.

Flipboard just acquired Ellerdale to get their "intelligent data-parsing algorithms".

It smells wrong to me to have stuff like this silo-ed in a Fat Client.
