(2011-02-14) Rifkin Panda Whale
Adam Rifkin is working on Panda Whale - it's mission is to organize public conversations... Pandas are Internet users who are self-interested forager spending their time searching and consuming. We are developing Panda Whale to be loved by pandas. Panda Whale's conversations will be searchable, lurkable, and transactable. See 2010-10-16-RavikantRifkinTwitterUndervaluesVsFacebook. Bringing it all out onto the OpenWeb.
*It's not the blog post or photo or check-in or status update or tweet that matters as much as the ensuing back-and-forth where facts and opinions are shared and synthesized. Content, meet context.
Last year things got more interesting as richer text conversations started happening via services as diverse as Quora, 4uhm, DisQus, and Namesake, and richer media conversations started happening via Instagram, Pic Plz, Nyoombl, Speaker Text, and the new Tokbox Open Tok.
Now that early adopters are comfortable with these services, 2011 is poised to take public conversations mainstream, taking Ambient Findability on the Web to the next level like a series of candles lighting one another in a cascade of illumination.*
