Jack Dorsey may be returning to Twitter. The CEO title has been discussed, but it's much more likely Dorsey would become something like a chief product officer. Current Twitter CEO Dick Costolo will stay with the company, as he is valued for his monetization expertise. In November, we reported that Jack Dorsey was, one day a week, working at Twitter again. This new position is said to be closer to a day-to-day job supervising product development at Twitter.

Mar28 update: Dorsey is in a Chief Product Officer. But he's still active CEO of SquareUp!?!

And Twitter's new director of Product Management, Satya Patel, will also be splitting his professional time with another concern – Battery Ventures, where he'll continue working as an advisor to portfolio companies.

Adding to that... A source briefed on the ordeal tells us that the Quick Bar (Dick Bar) was launched, essentially out of the blue, by a junior product manager – without any review from the company's senior leadership. Dick Costolo, Twitter CEO and #Dick Bar namesake, is said to have been livid after the ensuing controversy.

Mar29: Evan Williams, who stepped down from CEO 6 months ago, has still been (roughly) full-time. But he's now backing away. Coincidence?

Wow, this is all bizarre. Smells like thrashing. Or maybe some quick decision-changing which isn't fully transparent yet.
