(2012-06-04) Guillebeau100 Dollar Startup Book

Chris Guillebeau has a new $100 Start Up book ISBN:0307951529 out.

Michael Ellsberg has an interview with him. Most people who are entrepreneurs are going to start more than one project. So most of them start something, and if it fails, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are failures. The whole thing with the $100 startup model is that if you spend $100 to start a business that doesn’t work out, is it really a failure compared to someone who maybe borrows a quarter of a million dollars to open a Subway franchise or some other business that has more invested capital? Lowering your risk is a huge thing... Essentially, I wasn’t really building a sustainable business. It was just a way to the marketplace. If you find a way to the marketplace, that’s fine, great. You might as well do it, but if you really want to create something you can rely on and maybe support a family, I think it’s better to build your own business... Most people actually want to do something with their life. They want to do something that matters. They want to do something significant. It’s a question of rethinking work. (Meaningful Life)
