Ben Chamberlain: I’m skeptical of Athens Research. Athens is the most shameless of the Roam Research copycats. They are very open that their goal is to build Roam Research, but free for non-enterprise users

Great business have come from from copying the ideas of others. I just don’t think it will work.

For the math to work would require more people using Athens and a high conversion %. There aren’t enough academic types who will end up influencing a business for that to work in the near term.

The other use case is a CRM marketplace.

Being first also means many of the people most excited about Personal Knowledge Management, which probably significantly overlaps with people excited about Collective Knowledge Management already use Roam and like it.

At least one company will figure out a way to better organize enterprise data with less setup. I believe that company will be transformational. (NoCode)
