For over twenty years, the Coalition of Essential Schools (CES) has been at the forefront of creating and sustaining personalized, equitable, and intellectually challenging schools. Essential schools are places of powerful student learning where all students have the chance to reach their fullest potential. http://www.essentialschools.org/pub/ces_docs/about/about.html

Our formal network consist of approximately 600 schools for which participation varies from being a CES National Affiliate School to receiving coaching services from a regional center to attending the annual Fall Forum. http://www.essentialschools.org/pub/ces_docs/about/phil/ces_faq.html

CES is a member of the Catalog Of School Reform Models, which only admits models that provide schools with a coherent framework for change that addresses all aspects of school operations, including governance, structure, culture, curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development. The catalog focuses on models that lead to significant changes in the day-to-day classroom practice of K-12 teachers. http://www.essentialschools.org/pub/ces_docs/schools/csrd/cesprogram_csrd.html
