Command Line
the non-GUI practice of interacting with a program by submitting PlainText to it, and getting PlainText output
often associated with UNIX culture, or MsDos as precursor to MsWindows
some newer things sometimes called a Command Line:
- Jabber (and other Instant Messaging)
- Active Words
- Web Browser Location field
- Web Services (a stretch, but the focus on PlainText makes a point - it's a PipeLine-friendly model)
Can be good way to launch Mac Ro or Scripting Language. Or talk to a ChatBot or Intelligent Software Assistant.
