Commuter Train

Railroad Train for your Commute

Not SubWay, but between DownTown and Suburb

When I was in high school (1970s), I'd ride the Erie Lackawanna trains into Hoboken and then take PATH to Manhattan.

  • it literally looked like the "sad train" scenes in Stardust Memories
    train
  • once I accidentally walked into some special car: my recollection
    • cigar-smoke filled
    • big ceiling fan (unlike the tiny rusted metal things in the main cars)
    • big free-standing (plantation?) chairs around tables
    • old guys with mustaches playing cards
    • is this a false memory? No!. I swear it still looked like that!
      fancy
