Franchise

business structure for rolling out a Business Model at large scale, but charging people (non-employees, entrepreneurs) for the right to join that model

I've read at least one book that says that every Start Up needs to think like it's going to launch a franchise network to get its operations in order. See esp E-Myth.

The franchise and the virus work on the same principle: what thrives in one place will thrive in another. You just have to find a sufficiently virulent business plan, condense it into a three-ring binder—its DNA—Xerox™ it, and embed it in the fertile lining of a well-traveled highway, preferably one with a left-turn lane. "You do not realize that Taco Bell is the only restaurant to survive the Franchise Wars... Now all restaurants are Taco Bell.”

Ends up giving each operator

Does this make it a Tribe?
