Jordan Greenhall, a former Mp3.com executive, learned of the DivX codec from friends, and used it to download a copy of "The Matrix".[3] Greenhall eventually got in touch with Gej through an underground Dutch hacker group after a multi-month search.[3] In early 2000, Greenhall put forward the idea of using the "DivX ;-)" codec to found a company. With co-founders Joe Bezdek, Darrius Thompson and, Greenhall and Gej created DivXNetworks, Inc.
