What could the benefit be?

create better User Interface than the TelCo-s
add/integrate functions that the TelCo-s won't support
use P2P Mesh Network approach? z2005-06-09- Open Cellphone
- why?
  - because sometimes is TelCo Infra Structure is over-loaded or broken (e.g. Hurricane Katrina)
  - to try and Route Around the TelCo pricing, at least enough to possibly create a little competition
    - Bob Frankston: If we simply had 802.11 coverage connected to an abundant backbone the cellular industry would instantly cease to exist because it creates no value.
- is this realistic?
- does Vo Ip Over Wi Fi get you close to that?
