Mark Hinkle and Bruce Perens discuss the issues/elements associated with a 'User Linux' distribution of LinuxOS targeted at consumers. We might have to start publicizing a "not ready for purchase" list for various hardware manufacturers that can't get with the program. I think that even MsWindows customers will be reluctant to purchase a Lap Top that could not ever be switched to Linux.
