Tim Bray on the new PR. Senior management works out a company's goals and messages. Management works hard to make sure that the employees understand them. The people who are really doing the work tell the story to the world, directly. This echoes a lot of what Hugh MacLeod has said about the target of messaging being internal (via Corporate Blogging and other means), but I didn't really get that point until now.
This also reminds me of the "StrategicCorporal" concept written about by William Lind and lots of others.
